JON JICHA is Professor Emeritus in the School of Art and Design at Western Carolina University, USA.
His international speaking engagements and exhibitions include St. Petersburg, Russia; Barcelona, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and New Delhi, Noida, Vadodara, Santiniketan in India. His artwork has been featured in the Brno Bienal, Kathleen Ewing Gallery, Society of Publication Designers/New York, American Institute of Graphic Arts, Art Direction, Zone One Contemporary, The Light Factory, and Asheville Art Museum. His work has been published in Metropolis Magazine, Print Magazine, Art Direction Magazine, Four Magazine, and National Geographic Magazine. He has curated and organized major exhibitions including Tibor Kalman: Process; April Greiman: Large Scale Posters; Rudolph DeHarak: A Thirty- year Retrospective; Chew on It: New Genre Hybrid Language; We Are Happy to Serve You; Thinking Design: An Appetite for Meaningful Design; Drawing: Points of View / Photographs by Cathy Griffin; and Cleveland Rocks: The Birthplace of Rock and Roll / Photographs of George Shuba. His publication designs have received numerous national and international awards and meritorious citations. Jicha’s work is included in private and public collections including the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, Washington, DC; Coburg Museum, Bavaria, Germany; Littleton Collection, Spruce Pine, NC; and South Carolina State Arts Commission Collection.
