Jane’s work is an attempt to visually express ideas in an interesting and harmonious way. I make paintings with the hope that the image carries more interpretive possibility than my statement can convey. I am interested in structure, connections, and pattern. Symbolic images such as maps and diagrams are sometimes part of my work, and although I work with several media, I turn to encaustic most often.
